It is that time of the week when we put our head on the chopping block with Planet Rugby's weekend predictions.

Ahead of the fast approaching Six Nations and Super Rugby, this week we have Top 14, LV= Cup and a mouth-watering clash between the Irish Wolfhounds and England Saxons to tide us over.

We have you covered for rugby bets so without further ado, let our team take you through the best options on Paddy Power that we hope make you some extra cash.

Ireland Wolfhounds v England Saxons

There will be nothing friendly or second string about this contest. Team announcements have both been strong, particularly from Ireland, and with extra interest in England new boy from rugby league, Sam Burgess, Friday's game from Cork is sure to be offer an intriguing 80 minutes.

Ireland are the -5 favourites at 10/11 and just to win are 4/9 while England are at 9/5, with the total match points line quite low at 36.5.

Despite the cold weather, conditions should be good to implement a decent brand of rugby and we're tempted by going over that points line as well as looking at a few outside bets on the try market. Englishmen such as Thomas Waldrom (16/5) and Chris Ashton (11/5) are your best bets while for Ireland the odds on Gordon D'Arcy seem high at 15/2. Those who believe Burgess' script is written may go for him first try at 22/1.

A final bet we like the look of is the first try being scored up to and including minute 22, which is priced at 5/6. It should arrive before that.

Top 14

Toulon v Bayonne

Many would expect one way traffic in this clash at Stade Felix Mayol and the -19 to be surpassed by a strong-looking Toulon against Bayonne.

We expect a procession by the second-half but we are also tempted by the 8/13 on offer for Toulon to score first, lead at half-time and win, with the likes of Bryan Habana, David Smith and Drew Mitchell cashing in with likely tries. Also watch out for a price offered on Juan Smith.

Other Top 14 fixtures:

Montpellier v Bordeaux-Bègles - Montpellier by 3
Brive v Grenoble - Brive by 5
La Rochelle v Clermont - Clermont by 9
Lyon v Racing-Métro - Lyon by 4
Stade Francais v Oyonnax - Stade by 13
Castres v Toulouse - Castres by 3

LV=Cup

Harlequins v Bath

The presence of Nick Evans in the number ten jersey cannot be downplayed as he should play a key role in guiding Harlequins past the -6 handicap being offered on Paddy Power.

Alongside Karl Dickson, the hosts have the upper hand against a weakened Bath XV and we expect deadly finisher Charlie Walker to cash in wide out at the Twickenham Stoop. It could be worth getting on him for two or more tries.
