Northern Lights: Paku has signed for Montauban

New Zealand Maori and Hurricanes full-back Shannon Paku has joined the exodus to Europe by signing for Montauban of France.

The 27-year-old, who won three Maori caps and can also play on the wing, also played one season for the Blues before returning to his home club.

At Montauban, Paku will team up with compatriot Matthew Clarkin, who has extended his contract by two years.

Paku is the fifth recruit for the south-western team currently lying seventh in the Top 14, after France back Julien Laharrague, Fiji winger Vilimoni Delasau, centre Regis Lespinas and scrum-half Julien Audy.
